Approximately 6 years ago we met a beautiful young first responder named Nicole DeClark while doing P.R.work in the City of Detroit. Nicole had dreams and goals of becoming a K-9 Handler and was employed by Highland Park Police Department and Sherlock Investigations. On 9-9-14 Nicole took her own life before she was able to accomplish this goal of becoming a K-9 Handler.

Today we are honoring Nikki’s life and legacy, by naming our next K-9 after her, in an attempt to break the stigma surrounding depressive Illness and suicide prevention, and to ensure that Nikki’s name is never forgotten.

Nikki your life mattered you will never be forgotten.

Please welcome K-9 Nikki. Nikki is a female Belgian Malinois being trained in detection, tracking, and patrol and will be donated to a department when finished.
